Around the Bay in a Day….well 50k worth

October 19, 2009

Thank you to all those who sponsored me for this years Round the Bay in a Day.

I raised $825. A valuable contribution to the Smith Family.

The ride was great. Freezing in the morning. Then the sun came out. Windy down by the bay, but pushed through…snot and all.

I tell you one thing. Busting to go to the toilet whilst riding a bike is really an uncomfortable thing!! Very awkward feeling!

It was a good fun ride, and looking forward to it next year….hopefully with road tires to make it easier on me, given I ride a bus of a bike!

Uninspired

October 15, 2009

It’s time for the Canon 2009 Photo 5 competition again! Last year I was a finalist. Whenever you do well in something that gets repeated, it really is a pain, cause it means the bar has been raised and you have to outdo yourself! At this point of time though, although the subject materials are really cool, for some reason or another, I’m fighting through a lack of motivation and a lack of inspiration.

Work and studies do seem to take up most of my brain power as of late, so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was that.

However….I am still hoping to get at least one shot uploaded to the competition before the end of the competition at the end of the month……and who knows…it could end up on www.mustangtravels.com in my portfolio…..either way, I’m sure I’ll let everyone know about it.

Don’t forget to sponsor me for Round the Bay in a Day!: https://aroundthebayfundraising.com.au/?RubenMascaro

Feeling a little chuffed!

October 14, 2009

Although my site hasn’t appeared on Google yet, since launching on Saturday, I’ve had 64 views, and all positive feedback. Including some great feedback from my Photography Diploma tutor.

Thanks to all who have so far visited and been so positive about it!

Also, I have been selected for Ph.Art’s photographic artist of the day for Wednesday October 21st. Although it isn’t like winning a Walkley, it’s still great to see good feedback coming my way. Thanks Ph.Art!

Help me raise money for the Smith Family

October 12, 2009

Only 6 days to go until I ‘ride for a reason’ in the 2009 Around the Bay in a Day and to help disadvantaged Aussie kids.

Sadly, one in seven Australian children are living in disadvantage and do not have access to the same educational, health or life opportunities that many of us enjoy and often take for granted.  Without support, the disadvantage they experience today is likely to continue into adulthood – and on to the next generation.

Please take a moment to view my online fundraising page and help me reach my fundraising goal. It is easy and will take no time at all, just donate online via your credit card by clicking on the link below:

http://aroundthebayfundraising.com.au/?RubenMascaro

All information is secure and all donations will be sent electronically to The Smith Family. A tax deductible receipt will be sent to your inbox once the donation is verified.

The Smith Family is an independent non-profit organisation committed to helping disadvantaged Australian children by unlocking opportunities through education and learning.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ruben
